We’ve recently reached a milestone of 30 states on CPAverify and 36 states on the ALD! To sustain this trend, NASBA has continued to streamline the implementation process, which means a smoother, quicker path to launch. We know State Board IT resources are a hot commodity and with our new tools, we’ll help even the busiest IT team get this project completed as painlessly as possible.

Incorporate these tips to ensure your own Board’s ALD and CPAverify implementation is a huge success:

The Basics:

  • In any project with many key players, effective email correspondence to clearly communicate questions and answers is crucial.
  • Complete the initial IT Survey, a quick one page of information about the database infrastructure and resources available for the project. You may or may not need IT’s assistance to fill this out.
  • Have your IT team view the IT Implementation Video Module provided by NASBA at the start of your implementation as the answers to a lot of questions are included.
  • Encourage your IT team to use the Video Module as a self-serve training portal for requirements of the project and FAQs.

Best Practices:

NASBA ALD Senior Developer, Mike Semich, states, “In any IT implementation project there is a back and forth nature to the project. The ALD is even more pronounced in this characteristic as it is essentially a data integration project.”

In an ideal case, the State Board would modify their export based on NASBA’s feedback, deliver it back to the ALD team who would then pick up the new file and then test it in our development environment, to start the feedback loop over again. The quicker these iterations arrive, the quicker the implementation can be completed.

  • Quick passes of data file improvements, ideally with little more than a few hours between iterations enable swift progress to be made.  No time lost between iterations is time gained for the State Board.
  • Short lag time between iterations drastically decreases the duration of implementation.
