General InformationNASBA gathers and verifies credentials for individuals who plan to apply for licensure by endorsement in the state of New York. Using the CredentialNet service to assist in the licensure by endorsement process in New York and/or other states that accept documentation from CredentialNet can greatly reduce the time and effort expended to obtain required materials (certificates of experience, transcripts, interstate exchange forms) for licensure or notification. NASBA recommends that you use CredentialNet if you are planning to practice in multiple states. Licensure by Endorsement in New YorkNew York accepts documentation from CredentialNet (a service of NASBA) for individuals applying for licensure by endorsement in New York. CredentialNet will gather and verify transcript(s), certificate(s) of experience, and authorization for interstate exchange form(s) and send them to the New York State Education Department Division of Professional Licensing Services. The individual is also required to complete state-specific forms for New York and remit the state’s application fee. If you cannot certify 4 years of acceptable post licensure experience, you are not eligible for licensure by endorsement and must apply as an applicant for initial licensure.
