Female CPA Candidates Benefit

In the United States, the accounting profession is almost evenly divided between men and women. In the rest of the world, there’s less gender parity. But more than that, in many countries, there often aren’t many native accountants or CPAs at all, which is creating opportunities for women.

In many countries like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, accounting work is done by expatriates from other countries. Most who teach the subject are expatriates as well. Since many of those instructors are women, we believe the potential is there to bring more women into the profession.

Just having the test in these countries alone is a game changer. In some Muslim nations, women are not allowed to travel without a male escort, so they could not travel elsewhere to take the CPA Exam. In the past, women had to go to the expense and arrange the logistics for an international trip in order to take their test. Now they can obtain their CPA designation at home, and practice there, too.
